EY-Parthenon Strategy is a transformative strategy advisory team that provides real-world value: solutions that work in practice and not just on paper.

Setting and executing a high quality, implementable strategy is crucial to create and increase value for all stakeholders. Senior executives in business, private equity and government require strategy analysis, ideation, problem solving and communication capabilities suitable for a challenging economic and competitive environment. In Australia. EY-Parthenon Strategy has a 35-year track record of providing strategy advice of the highest quality. As well as our local strategy practice, we access a global network of strategy professionals in more than 150 countries.

Our firm’s history began as Port Jackson Partners in 1991, when Terrey Arcus and Fred Hilmer left McKinsey & Company to found their own firm. After building successful strategy consulting careers in Australia and internationally, Terrey and Fred wanted to refocus on serving clients with less business travel and a better balance of time with their families. Whilst we now serve clients around Australia and overseas, we are proud that these hallmarks continue to shape our firm.

In 2020, we joined EY to support their ambition to develop top-tier strategy consulting services around the world. Since joining EY, we have been able to scale up, expand into new sectors and enjoy being part of a global network while maintaining our unique culture and ‘small firm feel’. In April 2025, we rebranded to EY-Parthenon Strategy as part of a global move to consolidate EY’s premium C-suite offerings under one global brand. There are currently 20 Partners who lead the practice, assisted by a group of highly qualified consultants and an outstanding support team based in Sydney and Melbourne.

We offer bespoke solutions

Our approach allows us to vary our consulting efforts as our clients’ needs change over time. Our boutique firm enables great flexibility: we are big enough to provide consulting teams for our clients’ larger projects and can also customise a small-team approach for niche or longer assignments.
